Big H’s founder, Jesse Horn, started his first business, Superior Seed Sales, in 2011. He wanted to provide a higher level of customer service to farmers. As a third-generation farmer, he felt disappointed by the lack of personalized service and solutions. He wanted to do better. His hands-on approach made Superior Seed Sales a success. In 2015, he hired agronomist Zach Sheldon. Zach expanded the company’s capabilities to include scouting and soil sampling.

“Agronomy informs every decision we make,” Horn explains. “The addition of Zach Sheldon increased our ability to customize solutions for each farm based on science and data. And then, customers asked us to do more. They wanted our help with choosing and customizing equipment. We began helping farmers upgrade, retrofit and refurbish planting equipment in 2018.”

In 2020, Superior Seed Sales began doing business as Big H Ag Supply to reflect their increased focus on agronomy consulting and providing solutions and products to facilitate precision planting.
